A surprising number of people search Google for the “Pink DS Light” instead of “Pink DS Lite”. Aside from spelling, I think there must be a need for some explanation. This article should help to shed some DS Light!
This is a very brief summary for a full article see the Pink DS Lite and for an in-depth comparison of the different Nintendo DS consoles see DS Lite
The original Nintendo DS is no longer in production. It was known simply, as the Nintendo DS. The model number was NTR-001.
This has been superseded by 3 new models -
- DS Lite (USG-001)
- DSi (TWL-001)
- DS XL (UTL-001)
Most people drop the i so we now have the new Nintendo DS Lite, DS and DS XL (you can see where the confusion comes in with the original DS!)
The best way to think of them is Small (DS Lite), Regular (DS) and Large (DS XL).
All three members of the Nintendo DS family have
- Two ultra bright screens
- 3D graphics capability
- Touch-screen technology
- Wireless communication
- The Nintendo WiFi Connection
The wireless functions allow you to play wirelessly with friends in the same room or, if you have a home wireless Internet connection, it allows you to play online.
If you’re not sure which model you have or if you have a problem with your Nintendo the company’s main website has a brilliant help page here Nintendo Troubleshooting and Repairs. This will also lead you through to support for Gameboys, Wiis, etc.
