If this is a must have gift be sure to order now to avoid disappointment
The original Nintendo DS has been upgraded and replaced and there are now three Nintend0 DS consoles to choose from. It’s easiest to think of them as Small (Nintendo DS Lite), Regular (Nintendo DSi) and Large (Nintendo DSi XL). We’re going to give you a full overview of how they compare.
The Nintendo DS Light (Lite) is the compact youngster of the family (the Pink DS Light is our favorite) it’s small, cute and pretty. Its big sister is the Nintendo DSi is just a little larger but a lot more sophisticated. The grown up of the family is the Nintendo DSi XL which has everything the DSi has and just a little more.
The Pink DS Light is the smallest at 133 mm wide, with 3″ screens.
The Pink DSi is next at 137 mm wide, with 3.25″ screens.
By far the biggest biggest is the more grown up Nintendo DSi XL at 161 mm wide with 4.2″ screens. This is a full 93% bigger than the DS Lite’s screens!
The Nintendo DS features
All three Nintendo DS consoles have -

- Nintendo DS TouchScreen Technology!
Dual Screens
All the Nintendo DS consoles have two ultra bright LCD screens offering one of the most groundbreaking game play advances ever developed each screen can reproduce a true 3D view, with impressive 3D renderings. The screens get larger as the NintendoDSs get larger until at 4.2 inches the DS XL screens are a whole 93% larger than the Pink DS Lite!

The lower screen offers amazing touch-screen capabilities. Navigate menus or access inventory items, draw and even manipulate images simply by touching the screen with a stylus or fingertip. Two Digital Cameras
The Nintendo DSi system has two cameras – one camera is situated on the external body pointing away from the user, and the second one points at the user when the device is flipped open. As the first truly interactive digital camera in a video game system, the DSi Cameras feature 10 different interactive “lenses” that can manipulate your photos, offering an easy way to take and share your photos with family and friends.
Rich Stereo Sound:
Nintendo DSi sound capabilities allow for greatly expanded use of voices and music, and a richer, more immersive game experience. Stereo speakers allow for virtual surround sound and a plug for headphones transmits stereo sound.
Nintendo DSi Sound
Another enhanced feature is the Nintendo DSi Sound application, which serves as both an interactive voice recorder and music player that allows users to play with their music while they listen to it. Users can access different audio filters or control the pitch and speed of recorded voice or AAC music files to alter voices or change the tempo of a song. The mic is located between the two screens when the device is flipped open, and there is also a stereo headphone output that lets users listen to music saved on an SD card, even with the screen shut.
